Pittsburgh, PA, December 4, 2016 – Pageant Associates is excited to announce the winners of the 2017 MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA® and MISS PENNSYLVANIA TEEN USA® competitions. After a weekend that showcased the accomplishments and dedication of young women across the state of Pennsylvania, Cassandra Angst, age 22 of Philadelphia was crowned MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA® 2017 and Lauren Ann Weaver, age 16 of Windber was crowned MISS PENNSYLVANIA TEEN USA® 2017. Both of these young women will go on to represent the state of Pennsylvania in the next round of competitions for the prestigious, nationally televised MISS USA® pageant and the national MISS TEEN USA® 2017 pageant.
“As a resident of Pennsylvania, I am incredibly honored to represent the pride and glory of our wonderful state as MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA® 2017,” said Miss Angst. “Through my participation in the pageants, I am overjoyed at the chance to showcase everything that living in our beautiful state means to me, and I pledge to continue to make Pennsylvania proud.”
Crowned by Elena LaQuatra, MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA® 2016, Cassandra Angst represented Pennsylvania at the 2017 MISS USA® Pageant.
The remainder of the Top 5 included:
• Alex Taylor, age 21 of Cranberry Twp. – 1st runner up
• Alana Andersen, age 19 of Mahoning Valley – 2nd runner up
• Madison Longstreth, age 21 of Spring Grove – 3rd runner up
• Natalie Romano, age 23 of Monongahela 4th
Jasmine Ma, age 20 of Philadelphia was voted Miss Congeniality and Francesca Ruscio, age 23 of Bala Cynwyd was named Miss Photogenic.
The 2017 pageants were held in Pittsburgh, PA, December 2-4, 2016. The Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport served as the venue for all pageant activities. Contestants were judged in three equal categories consisting of Personal Interview; Swimsuit for MISS and Active Wear for TEEN; and Evening Gown. The competitions shined a spotlight on some of the best, brightest and most accomplished young women throughout the state.
“The pageant brought together a group of amazingly talented, smart, confident, hard-working, kind and young women from every part of Pennsylvania,” said Miss Weaver. “I am extremely proud that I’ve been crowned MISS PENNSYLVANIA TEEN USA® 2017 and am excited for every step of this amazing journey and year ahead.”
Crowned by Sydney Dolanch, MISS PENNSYLVANIA TEEN USA® 2016, Lauren Weaver represented Pennsylvania at the 2017 MISS TEEN USA® Pageant.

• Kailey Grill, age 17 of Mars – 1st runner up
• Chandler Swift, age 17 of Sadsburyville – 2nd runner up
• Alexandra Smelko, age 17 of Pittsburgh – 3rd runner up
• Karina Latsko, age 17 of Cranberry Twp. – 4th runner up
Brooke Calle, age 17 of Newtown was named Miss Photogenic and Natalia Salmon, age 17 of Effort was voted Miss Congeniality.
Titleholders will travel throughout Pennsylvania making appearances and acting as ambassadors of the state at a variety of charitable events, social functions and more.
